How To Build A Shed Ramp – My Shed Plans

A ramp is often a necessity in a shed since almost all shed floors are elevated above the outside ground level. That is why it is difficult to store things, specifically a lawnmower. Luckily, shed ramps are relatively easy to build and the materials are fairly inexpensive. Even a beginner can easily build a shed ramp.Click Here For My Shed Plans Instant Access Now!How to build a shed ramp can be very easy if you follow these easy steps. You need to level the ground your shed ramp will lay on. Measure the distance from the ground to the top of the shed’s threshold. Cut three 2-by-8 inch pieces of wood to the correct height that you just measured. Cut each piece of wood at a 45-degree angle using the miter box. Measure the width of the shed doors opening. Cut the fourth piece of wood the correct width of the door opening, and the correct height that you measured in Step 1. Nail the three 2-by-8s you cut in Step 2 to the one piece of 2-by-8 you cut in Step 5. The piece of wood in Step 5 should be the back support for the three pieces of wood from Step 2. Cut the piece of plywood the correct width and length so that it will cover the supports completely without any overhang. Nail the piece of plywood to the top of the support using three nails on each board. Slide the new ramp up to the shed for use. You can attach the ramp to the shed; however, allowing the ramp to be removable could avoid having to detach it in the future.Indeed having shed ramp can make chores a little easier, and allow people not to hurt their backs through the continued lifting of things outside the shed threshold and putting it back in.Click Here For My Shed Plans Instant Access Now!

Plans for Building a Shed – Does it Matter Where We Find Them?

Posted December 22nd, 2009 by Bigglesbarker and filed in Shed Building Plans

Plans for building a shed can be gotten a few ways, but aren’t all plans good enough? Isn’t a shed the simplest thing to build? Well yes, there may be many different designs to be had to use, however the structures of them are not all so very identical at all, so the plans and blueprints to use to build them to can vary from each other enormously. Depending on just what type of shed you’re building, there may be myriads of variations in the way some parts are prepared, for instance if you needed any cabinetry or shelves, windows, lighting and so forth. The foundation structures and designs can also vary quite a bit, or perhaps there need not be any, and that all depends on your specific requirements or what the purposes of your shed will be. So then we shouldn’t rely on building from little schematics and diagrams that we can find within some article in a wood working magazine on proper hammer holding, or a book on DIY back yard shed construction, thrown among articles mostly focused upon certain construction techniques, tips and tricks. What we need are real, high quality blueprints for building a shed, made for providing the builder with instructions on exactly what to do in a step by step manner. Everything should be explained plainly and simply, but with special, careful attention to all of the details that need to be noted. Anything involving the adding of electricity for lights, windows and so on needs to be laid out as plainly and concisely as it should be. Also, plans for building a shed needs to have their materials lists and all of the intricate measurements be without any errors, and completely and utterly accurate. Needless to say, finding just one set of blueprints won’t be much help… what if the design is not one you can work with? You’ll have to locate a huge resource of many thousands of plans for shed building, and such resources are available on the internet.
